Why choose O’Brien Custom Homes
WHY BUILD AN O’BRIEN CUSTOM HOME?
The simplest answer is Better.
O’Brien Custom Homes simply wants to be Better. Better for you. Better for us. Better now and going forward.
But Better from us encompasses a whole LOT of ideas that won’t fit into our usual 1 page Blog. Please read the other Blogs because they explain much more of who we are and what we aim for. But I wanted to offer a brief (or somewhat brief) summary of what you receive from O’Brien Custom Homes.
To give you Better, we organize it all into 3 main areas - Priority, Performance, and Price. O’Brien Custom Homes builds you (Priority) a Better house (Performance) at a fair Price.
Priority - we stay persistently focused on our client’s goals.
· You always get Priority service. Your service is nearly always handled by the Owner himself. The rest of us step up when needed, and then we take your needs straight to the Owner.
· We are committed to servicing the Texoma area and Grayson County where we also live, love, and play. We aren’t creating a global empire. Just trying to the best here for our friends and neighbors.
· Being small and local with our family name on the company, we don’t want the quick sale. We work to create long term relationships. We’ve built multiple houses for members of the same family on multiple occasions.
· Again, we are not a national mega-corporation. We aren’t creating 500 home sub-divisions. We want quality, not quantity. We stay focused on your house. Not your house and 499 others.
· We offer complete freedom of choice of what goes into your house. We work with you to create a budget focused on balancing your choices with costs to have maximum value.
Performance – we build your house with nothing less than the same materials, processes, and people that we put in our houses.
· We want to build houses that last and perform well for decades. We won’t cheap out and we utterly disregard “planned obsolescence”.
· We strive to build beyond the building codes when possible. We recognize that building codes are just the minimum standard. We look for Better than minimum. We are open for any inspection.
· We use licensed and proven local tradesmen who are as committed as we are to being Better. That ensures you have local resources to help support your house now and well into the future.
· We constantly review and upgrade our materials and processes to be Better. We use our knowledge and experience to ensure the quality of your house is balanced between the Tried and True versus the New and Upcoming.
· Again, quality. Your house is a system, and we build it as such. We work as a team with our contractors so that all parts of your house operate together for maximum performance.
Price – we build at cost and our fee. Big Myth – custom homes are way more expensive. Absolutely not. When you order a hamburger with your favorite toppings, do you consider it an expensive custom meal? Most houses we build are the average 3 bedroom, 2 bath. Can we build you a 4000 sq. ft. lake house – absolutely! Custom only means freedom of choice – not overpaying for your favorite hamburger toppings.
· You receive an itemized budget, so you understand how your money is used. It’s not like high-end cell phones where you find out later the company made them for less than half the price.
· The budget reflects quality materials. As above, we are not looking to build a cheap house or just make a sale. We ensure you get the value of what you paid for or more.
· We ensure the budget has proper contingencies. No project ever goes perfectly but we absolutely try. We keep wiggle room to help better manage anything unexpected. To be fair, it’s no different than any household having an emergency fund.
· Your budget will reflect proper and fair allowances. Again, we aren’t looking to cheap out. We have minimum standards and expect you do too.
· Our price is based here. We aren’t a national mega-corporation squeezing you to make our national sales projections or to make up for last quarter’s profit sag to some out-of-state shareholders. Our reputation is here so overcharging our clients would be a poor strategy.
There is a lot more we can expand on and we have it in the other Blogs so please read through them. And check back with us as we work to show you how O’Brien makes Better homes.
‘Til then,
Build Better with O’Brien!”
